Job Description

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager at our Research & Innovation Center in Middletown, Ohio.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead Product Development projects to ensure high quality and profitable products are developed within timing targets.
Develop and use a project tracking document to identify key tasks, targets for completion and responsible parties.

Conduct cross-functional team meetings to discuss project status and identify required actions.
Work closely with Metallurgical Research, Quality, Operations, Products & Marketing, Sales and Customer Technical Service in leading projects from inception to mass production.
Present project information to key areas within organization to convey a project's background/purpose/potential advantage to the company and to gain support.
Work closely with Quality Manager to ensure new products can be implemented to satisfy customer's requirements while meeting Cliff's quality standards.

A Bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred. Or a degree in a related field and 10+ years of related experience is required.
An interest in steel product development and applications.
Minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
Leadership experience dealing with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills, including oral and written.
Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project.
Project Management certification is a plus.
Familiarity with industrial standards and ability to understand customer specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is essential.
Structured thinking and attention to detail.
Knowledge of steelmaking, steel metallurgy and steel products preferred.
