Design, build, program, and install production related machinery.
Develop project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, safety standards, and motor controls.
Provide cost estimates and timelines for projects.
Follow designs from concept to production.
Research / Implement - advanced manufacturing ideas and concepts.
Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements.
Updates machine controls to newer hardware platforms due to obsolescence.
Troubleshoot equipment failures that may include pneumatics, servos, vfd's, relays, communication networks, touchscreens/HMI, push buttons and PLCs from various manufacturers.
Create documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, and electrical schematics
The successful candidate must be willing to learn new concepts and take on additional responsibilities as needed. The Electrical Controls Engineer must be able to work quickly and accurately and have a positive and proactive attitude.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
2 years of experience in a related field.
Technical proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC software applications.
Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.
Proficient with Unigraphics or AutoCad.
Understanding of manufacturing principals.
Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
Robotic, hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus.
Capable of working independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Some travel required (5% to 10%) based on project needs.
