The Supply Chain Intern will assist in the scheduling of production orders, review and recommend capacity adjustments, collaborate with shop floor on past due orders, assist with procurement of raw materials, and support supplier audits. In addition, they will focus on continuous improvement activities within planning and procurement departments, identify and limit system constraints, simplify data entry, and complete analyses per management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule assigned production jobs promptly within the parameters of the dedicated equipment and/or master production schedule
Coordinate machine time and manpower availability with manufacturing staff to ensure the availability of adequate resources to successfully execute the work order on time
Provide customer service with new delivery dates for re-acknowledged orders
Process requisitions in a timely fashion while following approved policies and procedures
Issues purchase orders in accordance with policy, follow up with suppliers as required
Prepares RFQ's, solicits competitive proposals, evaluates, negotiates and develops sourcing recommendations on routine low dollar MRO, expense, capital, freight and service items; acts as the principal line of communication between these suppliers and SPIROL
Identifies procurement savings opportunities; executes where appropriate or reports them to the Operations Manager
Stays current and knowledgeable of relevant commodity, currency and market conditions
Prepares Supplier Quarterly Rating Scorecards, establishes trend charts, issues supplier reports and supports plans to achieve 100% Scores
Participates in team projects and other assigned responsibilities as required
Promotes continuous improvement by proactively identifying issues and providing solutions with the goal of reducing cost and improving performance.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Actively seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business
Strong Teamwork, integrity, and communication skills
Must have analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Must perform functions accurately and independently, and be organized
Ability to prioritize; results oriented with strong personal initiative
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set deadlines and work well with others
Experience with JD Edwards or other MIS/ERP systems a plus
