Fabrication Production Team Leader starting from$20.70/hr
$1,000 signing bonus available($500 paid after90 days, $500 paid after 6 months)
Position promotes and governs a safe working environment; supports and enforces company policy, and mentors/coaches employees on every aspect of production, safety, quality, cost, delivery. Position is responsible for ensuring and maintaining all manufacturing standards, ensuring work schedules are accomplished and manpower is scheduled accordingly.Areas of responsibility include turrets, brakes, and legacy equipment (MetalWorks & Legacy). The base shift for this position is Day Shift.Career advancement and training opportunities available for motivated candidates.
Conducts shift meetings with staff to cover safety, quality, and to provide direction and goals for daily activities - reviewing the prior day's results.
Ensures safety standards are followed and communicated to direct reports. Follows all Company and OSHA Safety Policies.
Completes proper paperwork for accidents and notifies EHS. Reports near misses.
Communicates with Plant Coordinator or Plant Manager to ensure all legal employment standards are followed and to address any employee relations issues.
Attends and participates in all required company training programs.
Conforms to all company policies and procedures.
Maintains a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, oneself, nor the environment.
Commits to and follows the facility Mission, Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.
Addresses staffing needs, schedules manpower and assigns work to others.
Trains employees on jobs
Works with procurement to schedule and address material issues.
Performs routine and non-routine repetitive production and/or service duties to include: operation of specialty machinery, setup of complex tooling and equipment, completion of reports and logs, follow-up on work schedules
Interprets process sheets for workers
Ensures the plant equipment is clean and organized and in good working condition.
Works with Quality departments to solve issues on the floor. Ensures that the standards for quality, output, safety etc. are adhered to and improved upon.
Keeps accurate records of production, waste, quality checks undertaken.
Must be willing and able to work split shift and overtime as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Direct the work activities of 5-8 employees
Education and Experience:
Experience in leading or managing people and in addressing difficult situations in a manufacturing environment
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills
Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Ability to read blueprints, use computers for programming equipment
Must be proficient in Fabrication Equipment, Maintenance of equipment and Microsoft Office
Must be able to learn PLC, HMI, CNC, EPICOR and Trello Production Tracking
Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Basic PPE required: safety glasses, earplugs, and steel toe/composite boots. Specific PPE & training will be provided for activities requiring additional accommodations.
