We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.LDG is looking for a fire protection engineering services on multi-discipline building design projects of small to large scope for commercial and government facilities, as well as single discipline fire protection engineering projects of small to large scope. The fire protection engineer This includes the responsibilities of proposal preparation, complete system design, site evaluations, and testing and commissioning of systems. Typical projects and types of systems include: fire sprinklers, fire pumps, high expansion foam, clean agent systems, fire alarm and mass notification systems.Performs independent planning and design tasks, reviews work of others, and successfully delivers projects to completion.Maintains collaborative inter-departmental and cross functional working relationships with members of the project team.Performs initial QA/QC review of project submissions.Assists senior management in development of schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.Works closely with project teams to effectively describe and deliver scope of work.Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.Performs and checks design calculations, technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates.Develops and maintains design budgets for routine scopes of workComplete fire protection system designs and be the designer of record for sprinkler, fire pump, fire alarm and mass notification systemsWorking knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standardsExperience with Revit/Revit MEPProficient in fire protection system design and code complianceAssist junior staff with project completionPerform on-site system evaluations and assist with final system testing
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Master's Degree is preferred From an ABET accredited schoolMinimum 5 years of professional experienceP.E. License (FPE License strongly preferred)Experience in Fire Protection system design including: fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, clean agent systems, high expansion foam systems, fire alarm and mass notification systemsAutoCAD and Revit experience are strongly preferredLarson Design Group is an Affirmative Action/EEO employer.
