Join Cardno's Science and Environment team in Indianapolis, Louisville and Cincinnati and Louisville to play an integral role in providing ecological construction services.

Job Description:

Cardno is seeking a Project Superintendent- Ecological Construction to implement construction work in the ecological restoration fields. This position requires implementing a high quality product, interpreting construction plans/ specifications, adherence to Cardno's Health and Safety culture, management of subcontractors and staff in the field, and help ensuring projects are built successfully. Position may require overnight travel (up to 80%).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Overseeing construction projects as a Project Superintendent in the field and working closely with Project Managers to implement projects

> Identifying potential issues early and working with Project Manager to develop solutions

> Procurement of materials and equipment

> Operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, tracked carriers, and the like

> Managing and directing subcontractors in the field

> Working with Operations Manager and other Project Managers for staffing needs
> Overseeing grading, placement of rock and water structures, native planting, seeding, erosion control installation, mowing, herbicide application and/or any other activities necessary for the implementation ecological restoration projects

> Managing and directing construction crew members in the field

> Attending preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and other meetings as needed with clients and staff

> Conducting administrative duties such as construction reports and daily notes
> Adhering to corporate policies, operate through the proper management channels, and act in the best interest of firm

> Construction Superintendents may be required to spend up to 1-4 nights per week out of town working at remote locations


> High School diploma or GED
> Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role
> Proficient at administrative duties associated with managing a construction project in the field - daily reports, material tickets and project notes as necessary

>Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, tracked carriers, and the like
> Good oral and written communication with clients and staff

> Professional Licenses or certifications are a plus

>CDL or Chauffeur License or ability to obtain desired

Technical Requirements:

> Wetland and stream mitigation/restoration experience

> Ability to understand and interpret construction plans
> Knowledge of environmental/ecological field restoration techniques

> Ability to operate survey equipment as necessary
