What Rockwell Needs from You

We are seeking an MES/MOM Solution Architect to support development and adoption of Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk platform's MES and MOM capabilities in concert with the

FactoryTalk Analytics platform for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, action-oriented, hands on, has sound experience with designing, configuring and implementing at scale solutions based on open source software for on premise and cloud deployments.

In this role, you will be expected to acquire a deep understanding of the product capabilities and related the related technology stack; exhibit technical competence you will work closely with the product group, our delivery teams and customers.


Drive architectural & solution design decisions for the full-stack applications focusing on manufacturing IT solutions
Provide functional and technical leadership and support for MES/MOM implementations
Provide functional and technical leadership and support for analytics solution development
Conceptualize and drive to creation multi-function solution implementations, knitting MES/MOM and Analytics use cases
Work with customers and delivery partners to refine platform requirements and capabilities
Troubleshoot and resolve challenging customer configurations and issues
Mentor delivery teams globally
Assist with RFPs and RFQs
Experience with designing, configuring and implementing at scale solutions based on open source software

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering / technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 10 year's combined experience in agile software development & architecting with languages including Java, JavaScript, Python, SCALA, C/C++/C#
5+ years of hands-on Solution Architect/Software Architect/Technical Lead role.
3+ years experience in product/project engineering of MES/MOM solutions
3+ year's experience in product/project engineering using big data processing and streaming platforms based on Apache Spark, Apache Kafka or Apache Flink. Other platforms will be helpful.
3+ years' experience in Machine Learning Libraries and Notebooks like Spark ML/MLib, TensorFlow, R Server and Zeppelin, Jupyter etc.
1+ years' experience in big data stores (in order of importance):Elastic, Cassandra, Hbase, Hive, HDFS, etc.
Working Knowledge or experience of using modeling tools like Knime, Rapidminer, H2O or SAS preferred
3+ years experience manufacturing integration of IT systems
Knowledge of GxP manufacturing processes and familiarity with 21CFR part 11
Experience with open source software
Experience with cloud based SaaS, PaaS and IaaS technologies (preferably Microsoft Azure)
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to break down complexity.
Ability to see multiple solutions to problems and choose the right one for the situation
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent team player
