We are looking for a highly motivated degreed Mechanical Engineer with a facilities background and experience in mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, cooling towers, chilled water systems, natural gas systems, steam systems, combustion air systems, refrigerated air systems, altitude and atmospheric exhaust systems, service air systems, and fire suppression systems.

The selected individual shall work closely with the NASA Glenn Research Center facilities group and the GRC research, testing and other engineering personnel to develop requirements and prepare designs as required. Experience evaluating and solving the design related issues that arise within commercial construction are essential for the successful candidate. Must be able to work with coworkers, interdepartmental teams, and organizational leadership across the Center to effectively complete job requests. Previous leadership experience and project management experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include design and drafting for mechanical systems repairs and upgrades, field investigations of existing systems, engineering studies, contractor oversight on select projects, requirements development and editing/creation of construction specifications.

Applicants must have at least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on new construction or major renovations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC & Plumbing designs for commercial construction, with demonstrated success performing mechanical engineering for repairs and new construction of the various mechanical systems listed in the job description. Must haveHVAC Design experience,Plumbing Design experience,Proficiency in AutoCAD and Construction Specifications, must be aUS Citizen.
