Altamira is searching for an OPIR Engineer/Scientist in the io area, to support:

PIR Technical Intelligence (TI) & Movers Analysis
PIR Battlespace Awareness (BA) Analysis

Job Responsibilities:

Lead R&D efforts on data exploitation and validation from Persistent Infrared (PIR) sensors
Improve automated signal processing, improve other existing algorithms and tools, and develop new techniques for automated detection and tracking
Investigate methods of deriving target performance metrics and detection features data
Improve image processing techniques and investigate, develop, and implement methods for characterizing targets based upon observable features and derived metrics
Investigate state-of-the-art machine learning classification methods to classify elements
Work with Government Leadership, In-Depth Analytical and R&D teams to articulate ops needs to ensure the result meets the needs
Be able to effectively write and brief intelligence findings of a technical nature
Enhance existing data projects in the application of remote sensing technology to solve intelligence issues
Perform in-depth processing and exploitation of data and dissemination of phenomenology reports to support customer requirements
Support the resolution of highly complex, technical problems and provide advice and recommendations.

Qualifications:

Master's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Physics, or other related technical discipline (preferred).
Proficient with engineering codes to include Matlab, Python, and/or IDL.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Active TS/SCI Clearance (will consider Secret Collateral on case-by-case basis).
Prefer 10+ years of engineering/scientific application experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of remote sensing principals and applications.
