Job Description Overview

CORT is looking for a dynamic, experienced individual who will protect the company's investment in accounts receivable for large accounts, while preserving and strengthening customer relations. The individual will lead a team of 11 and be a team player while accomplishing review and approval of credit applications for National and other commercial accounts, oversee billing and collections for large commercial accounts, and develop and maintain financial controls and control documentation, policies, and procedures as needed to run an effective and efficient operation.

Oversee collection efforts for assigned large accounts, including goal-setting, monitoring metrics and bankruptcies, and making credit hold and collection agency decisions.
Monitor past due account status and agings to determine any necessary collection, corrective or adjustment action.
Resolve customer service issues related to billing, collections and payments for assigned accounts.
Perform credit analysis and approval for National and other large accounts.
Oversees the invoicing process which includes Printing, mailing, and emailing of Invoices via a 3rd party vendor relationship
Monitor performance of direct reports and hire, coach, counsel, promote, etc. as needed.
Review, revise and document policies and procedures, making improvements when needed to streamline operations, create efficiencies, and improve internal controls.
Ensure resources are allocated to best support high priority/high impact projects
Prepare monthly and periodic reports for senior management as required.
Perform ad hoc reporting/research on an as needed basis for senior management.
Audit local procedures and policies to ensure compliance with CORT directives.
Other duties and projects as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Direct management experience (5+ years) working with a wide diversity of work situations and involving a high degree of complexity
Extensive knowledge of credit and collections, invoicing, accounts receivable and customer service principles, practices and regulations
Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Peoplesoft or an equivalent is preferred.
