SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Manager of Insights is responsible for insights and research activities that are done to advance both existing and new business initiatives. This person will work across both industrial and consumer business channels to support both primary and secondary research related requests as submitted by marketing and sales. The Mgr of Insights should have a well-rounded knowledge of market research techniques and survey tools and the ability to analyze research data and present this data back to key stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage consumer research requests from Marketing, Sales, & I&I teams, including scoping, quoting, screener development, discussion guide development, and final report review
Basic research skills, including an understanding of DIY platforms for various internal research requests, including question writing, programming, analysis, and reporting
Synthesize research findings into insightful observations with clear, actionable business implications and strategic recommendations
Deepen the organizational knowledge of our target end users and their needs to all teams across the business based on an in-depth knowledge of their needs, attitudes, and behaviors
Build vendor base for consumer and market research partnerships
Collaborate on annual macrotrend update, as well as annual and ad-hoc industry-specific updates on category trends as they come up

Bachelor's degree or higher
Robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and good business acumen
Exceptional at finding trends in the data, articulating the "so what," and translating insights into strategic, actionable recommendations
Excellent project management skills, and experience managing distinct vendor relationships
Excellent communication and data story-telling skills, including the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle an array of tasks on tight timelines
Strong written and oral communicator with experience in facilitation across all levels
Demonstrated expertise on the subject of product innovation and audience definition
Self-motivated and enthusiastic with low resistance to change
Microsoft Office experience/knowledge
Knowledge of Mural and MS Teams
The ability to analyze research data and interpret it
Possesses leadership qualities (takes responsibility and accountability for actions)
Strong ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
3-5 years proven working experience in Market Research
Experience working closely with cross functional teams to utilize research and insights to develop products, recommend improvement in features benefits based on end user input and other data.
Experience conducting and designing qualitative (e.g. focus groups, in-depth interviews, observation) and quantitative (e.g. surveys, experimentation, statistical analysis) primary research
Well-rounded knowledge of market research techniques
Experience in team-oriented environments

Ability to work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods of time
Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone
Schedule flexibility to include weekend and after-hours workload
Some travel required (5 to 20% of time)
This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.
