The Material Handler Supervisor oversees all scheduled and unscheduled shipping & receiving activities at our facilities to ensure adequate product and material flow to the main facility and avoid shortages or overstocking.


Responsibilities / Authority:

Make materials decisions daily in order to achieve customer delivery

Schedule and train new employees to meet performance expectations according to ISO standards

Create and track metrics to ensure goal achievement

Work closely with the Material Planning group on materials flow to support production requirements

Work with corporate logistics on inbound shipments

Develop storage strategy to maximize efficiency, storage capacity, and minimize freight and downtime costs

Support all continuous improvement initiatives, including the Plan for Every Part project

Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment according to MTD safety regulations

Manage department to efficiently satisfy customer demands

Provide timely, unbiased, and effective performance evaluations for all associates in the department

Work directly with various landlords to ensure each facility is adequately maintained

Work with outside vendors and corporate employees on machinery needs and maintenance

Time and attendance, and/or other related approvals using the appropriate software (e.g. Kronos, Workday)


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED, Associate Degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years prior Supervisory experience

Data driven and results oriented with a strong and sincere customer focus

Ability to develop, motivate, and lead a team

High level of organizational and time management skills

Adept with Microsoft Office and MAPICS

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to maintain and implement lean initiatives and 6S campaign strategies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to improve manufacturing experience
