Job Description

Pratt (Lewisburg Container) LLC is seeking an Engineering Reliability Manager to develop and implement engineering and reliability strategies and maintenance systems, programs, and methods to determine maintenance demands for components, equipment and processes. Acquire real-time equipment data and analyze the business and safety risks, equipment reliability, and improve equipment functions. Perform detailed reliability studies and calculations of component / system downtime. Prepare reliability analysis, scorecards, charts, diagrams, drawings, calculations and reports for avoiding maintenance delays and make recommendations for improvements. Plan and perform engineering research, design development, or manufacturing engineering assignments, including responsibility for major subsections of complex technical improvement projects using engineering best practices, and acquiring and analyzing equipment real-time data in reducing downtime. Conduct engineering analysis of reliability and maintainability problems and facilitate root cause cause analysis to investigate, identify, and determine the root cause of the outage of specific event or situation, calculate the risks to the business goals with consideration given to cost limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, identifying the legacy and unsupported components and devices that contribute to business risks. Identify and specify technologies and components to replace the un-supported devices, considering the repair / replacement costs and being aware of the monthly budget, and ensure the long-term availability of materials / spare parts / equipment. Identify and determine the business and safety risks, cost advantages of alternatives and develop action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for both timely repair and avoiding failures of processes and equipment. Consider impact of costs on recommended actions plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting downtime problems on installed equipment. Help establish good maintenance practices including Preventive and Predictive maintenance (PM/PdM), Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), and Risk Based Inspection (RBI). Develop and implement Thermography and Vibration Monitoring as part of the PdM and ensuring the reliability of the equipment. Develop and implement a SCADA system (Supervisory Control and Data Aquisition) as a tool in troubleshooting machines. Improve, maintain, and sustain the Maintenance programs and processes - Work Orders, PM/PdM, Inventory, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Estimate personnel needs and coordinate the use of technicians to accomplish the objective of cost-effective outage improvements for projects. Monitor warranties and service guarantees. Notify appropriate personnel of impending expiration dates. Locate O.E.M. manufacturers and aftermarket distributors in order to obtain competitive costs on parts or improved service. Oversee/plan work and installations completed by Contractors. Conduct monthly selective inventory to verify with computerized inventory of maintenance parts and supplies. Assist in selection, evaluation and installation of capital and expense projects. Implement, maintain and support all company policies including safety program and good housekeeping.  

Position requires a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Project Management), Management Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Reliability Engineer/ Manager, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Leader, Technical Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Controls/Control Systems Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, or a related position. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus ten (10) years of related experience. Position also requires advanced continuous improvement knowledge to improve technically complex equipment including Six Sigma. Requires Electrical Automation, Controls, Servo Drives, and PLC Programming experience. Requires the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical automated controls. Requires reliability and maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant. Requires experience in an engineering/equipment maintenance (management) role managing complex technical improvement projects. Requires demonstrated supervisory experience.
