Primary Purpose: A ccount Management, Check for unpaid claim status, either electronically or by phone. Working with third party carriers or intermediaries. Following standard Operating Departmental Procedures to pursue prompt payment of Hospital claims for assigned financial classes and Payors. Responsible for collaborating with other departments to drive payer collections, communicating process issues and improvements to the Patient Account Lead . Knowledge and Skills

Education: Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED. Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.

License and Certifications: None Required

Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in medical billing and/or collections required

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with 3 rd part payer guidelines, reimbursement, follow-up, denials and collections
  • Demonstrated knowledge of claims review and analysis; ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
  • Effective communication, leadership, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage analyze data, identify improvement and implement change
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email and voicemail
