Job Description

Summary: Mid-level accounting position to help with many different aspects within finance to include expenses and commissions.


Scope/Level of Decision Making: This is a non-exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs a variety of assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager.


Location: Lakewood, OH


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Provide accounting support within the finance department

  • Record business transactions and key daily transactions to the general ledger system

  • Properly report and pay expenses and commissions

  • Record daily A/R and A/P transactions; ensure files are complete and maintained

  • Ensure trade checks are performed prior to setting up new customer accounts

  • Monitor and contact customer accounts for special payment arrangements, non-payment, and delayed payment; research and resolve payment discrepancies

  • Research, track, and resolve other accounting related problems

  • Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors/managers

  • Assist with month-end/year-end tasks assigned or as needed

  • Processing invoices including matching inventory invoices to purchase orders and packing slips, coding operating invoices to proper general ledger account, and entering invoices into the financial system

  • Reconciling accounts at month-end

  • Process payments (credit card, ACH, online payments, etc.)

  • Identify billing errors and revise and correct errors

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to organize and engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, complex environment

  • Proficient in QuickBooks, word processing, and spreadsheet programs

  • Ability to communicate with all levels and departments, and work collaboratively as part of a team


Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
