Purpose & Scope
  • Provide a leadership role in the overall process of scheduling, supplier interface, capacity management and SAP transactions to meet plant metrics for OTD, SA and Inventory $s and Days.
  • Develop direct reports and work with peers across the functional area to achieve plant and company vision and goals.
  • Lead efforts to design/implement/control a closed-loop control system for both the Gambrinus Roller and New Philadelphia plant supply chains. This includes managing a system which integrates forecasting (for 17 customer facilities), balances demand with capacity and resulting capacity planning, coordinates supplier development & then management of the supply chain, builds plant loading & execution tools, and manages working capital throughout the supply chain including at customers with FGI.
  • Manage a closed loop control system ensuring excellent customer service to both internal and external customers around the globe, ultimately impacting approximately $200m in Sales.
  • Coordinate suppler choice, development, and management to assure we meet our BP commitments as well as drive for continuous improvement in delivery, inventory, cost, quality, design, etc.
  • This position reports directly to the Plant Manager of the Gambrinus Roller and New Philadelphia plants.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Integrate demand into the SIOP process for MPS creation and establish tools to test demand against capacity by product pipe. With this knowledge this position is responsible for developing plans to continuously adjust capacity to meet demand changes up or down.
  • Drive and promote a safe culture and environment through associate engagement, policy adherence, participation in PBS, safety improvements, and ergonomic assessments when needed.
  • Coordinate and resolve demand/capacity conflicts with internal and external suppliers to the VSM, as well as alert customers as to potential shortfalls and develop plans to manage collective capacity or shape demand.
  • Build production plans for GRP and partner suppliers and then through the correct customer service KPIs ensures delivery on commitments.
  • Establish, maintain, and deliver on BP commitments for customer delivery and FGI metrics for all global bearing assembly plants served.
  • Establish and maintain measures of supplier delivery, quality, and cost data. Manage routines to assure commitments are achieved.
  • Develop lean manufacturing tactics throughout the entire VSM for right-sized inventory buffers which allow customer service > 95% but at the same time allow our business to operate with the lowest working capital.
  • Develop systems tools and integration to allow the right people to have the right information at the right part of the VSM to achieve BP commitments.
  • Participate in procurement and supplier quality development activities to optimize supplier development.
  • Conduct annual physical inventories for plant(s) and supplier(s) according to corporate policies.
  • Manage SOX and SAP permissions for the team, while minimizing security risks.
  • Participate as a member of the management team which guides and directs the roller plant operations.
  • Develop a systematic, structured approach to improve delivery reliability to internal customers and drive measurable improvement.

Technical/Functional Skills Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related, plus 12 years' relevant experience; or
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related, plus 10 years' relevant experience
