Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Loads and unloads vehicles; drives a delivery truck to pick up and deliver supplies, equipment and personnel, (e.g., furniture, office equipment, food, etc.); may unpack and assemble furniture, office equipment, etc.
Signs and accounts for all goods, obtains signature for receipt of merchandise upon delivery.
Sets up and/or erects and dismantles materials and equipment for special events (e.g., commencements, concerts, registrations, conferences, and banquets).
Moves and sets up furniture (e.g., desks, chairs, etc.) in various buildings on campus.
Assists in general maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities; may pump gasoline, change oil, and wash vehicles; keeps area cleaned of snow, trash, etc.
Loads, unloads, and moves materials utilizing tow motor and/or hand fork lift.
May perform stockroom duties; keeps records on items as necessary; takes special and/or periodic inventory counts, may investigate discrepancies between actual inventory and control records.
May train and direct student employees or employees in a lower pay grade; may participate in training new employees.
Performs related duties as required.
A minimum of six months experience operating various types of equipment, motorized vehicles, and/or tools (e.g., cargo van, hand and fork lift, power and hand tools, etc.) preferred.
Must possess valid Ohio driver's license with safe driving record or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with proper endorsements and safe driving record, if assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Ohio Revised Code or obtain as soon as possible with extension up to 6 months from date of hire. Individuals will be subject to controlled substance/alcohol testing in positions where such is required by federal regulations.
Interpersonal communication to effectively interact with University personnel and public in person and over the telephone (e.g., to discuss placement of deliveries).
Operate various equipment, motorized vehicles and/or tools (e.g., 2 1/2 ton delivery truck, cargo van, hand and fork lift, power and hand tools).
Demonstrate physical dexterity and lift 100 pounds.
Read (e.g., work orders, instructions), write (e.g., log deliveries), and accurately follow oral, written, and graphic instructions.
Assemble furniture, shelves, and storage bins.
Apply appropriate safety practices.
Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities.
Perform basic mathematics (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, decimals, and fractions, and to calculate percentages).
Maintain accurate records.
Identify pairs of items as same or different.
