Summary: Onix is currently seeking a talented, dynamic, and energetic individual to fill the role of a Senior Digital Designer. We are looking for a creative professional who is interested in long-range career growth, and a self-starter that possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate senior digital designer, with a high level of expertise delivering visually appealing digital projects. You'll be responsible for turning product requirements into useful and delightful customer experiences using the latest design standards. A successful candidate will have a passion for design, innovation and building thoughtful user experiences informed by customer research, industry best practices, and current creative trends. The ideal candidate will be able to explore multiple design solutions to any given problem or feature and communicate those solutions visually through sketches, user work-flows, wireframes, functional prototypes, and/or high-fidelity designs, as necessary.

The Senior Digital Designer will be responsible for working across multiple product teams to implement product solutions for customers. This includes analyzing requirements and gathering deliverables to successfully complete implementation, collecting appropriate data, providing user-focused designs, and coordinating with other departments.

Scope/Level of Decision Making: This is an exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. This role serves as a subject matter expert for the implementation of best practices and design standards of any product or service they are supporting. This role is instrumental in effectively communicating challenges to the appropriate departments to ensure positive client experiences.

Location: Remote-Nationwide, Remote-Ontario, Remote- Quebec

Role and Responsibilities:

Manage multiple clients simultaneously
Lead workshops to capture client requirements for a successfully designed website, application, platform, etc.
Analyze legacy information, practices, workflows and configure appropriately in a new environment, by presenting a new solution.
Conduct workshops with the client to gain design approvals for new user-experiences and visual layouts.
Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers
Interpret and understand client business requirements
Maintain advanced knowledge of each product for which they are responsible
Maintain accurate records of all communication received for each client
Identify and assist development with resolution and enhancements to workflow, best practices, and/or process.
Resolve complaints and answer questions from both internal and external customers
Collaborate regularly with other departments to improve processes or procedures
Maintain knowledge of departmental processes and procedures

Skills and Expertise:

Experience with CMS systems i.e. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Jive, Sharepoint, LumApps, etc.
Experience managing user research and usability testing.
Experience presenting to senior management.
Visual design experience in mockups and style guides.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of 'Design Thinking' and have the ability to apply this to a business problem.
Experience producing functional prototypes in HTML, JavaScript, & CSS.
Familiarity working with Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or Invision.
Must be a self-starter capable of working independently

Work will be performed from a home office
An attitude of willingness/eagerness to learn is essential.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Strong technical aptitude
Strong sense of design, color, contrast, hierarchy, and typography specifically for digital platforms (mobile, web).
Experience working remotely from a home office

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Travel Expectation: 20% Domestic. 10% International
