Description

LJB Inc. seeks an entry level structural engineer looking for unique ways to apply engineering fundamentals. As recognized leaders in fall protection consulting and design, LJB engineers are called upon to address a wide assortment of design challenges - one week could be designing fall protection for the US Capitol and the next assessing the fall hazards on a ship in Hawaii. These challenges require the same problem-solving methods and engineering fundamentals as "traditional" structural engineering, and also provide an opportunity to "think outside the box" by adding a safety aspect to the structural engineering toolbox. LJB's team of Professional Engineers and Certified Safety Professionals will provide the necessary training to allow development into a well-rounded engineer.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND REGISTRATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS FOR THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:

Bachelor's degree in engineering required with a structural emphasis
Master's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS FOR THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:

Minimum of one-year experience desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Experience in structural steel design required/ Reinforced concrete design experience preferred
CAD experience (REVIT and Bluebeam preferred)/STRAP or other structural analysis software experience required
Microsoft Office experience required

JOB DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:

Ability to develop creative solutions for a wide array of situations using fundamental structural engineering principles
Frequent opportunities to visit client sites and identify safety issues requiring engineered solutions
You will be expected to access locations at height, climb ladders/scaffolding, use personal fall protection systems, documenting structural systems in existing industrial/commercial/institutional facilities, wear additional personal protective equipment at times.
Client interaction to determine their needs and next steps for projects
Office environment with industrial settings when serving clients.
National travel is expected, International travel is possible
U.S. Citizenship required.
