Full Time, Day Shift, 8AM - 4:30PM

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of the Clinical Pharmacist is to hold responsibility for the clinical operations across the pharmacy product lines.  The clinical pharmacist will have a focus on leading the site of care strategies for AultCare.  They will also support the team as a clinician responsible for coverage determinations.  They will develop the strategy and procurement of the associated formularies and UM tools.  This person will monitor FDA approvals, drug manufacturer pipelines, and evaluate drug utilization reports in order to execute the AultCare formularies.  The clinical pharmacist and team are integrated with the care coordination team to support additional areas of care throughout the continuum. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:


Advance the site of care strategies through criteria development, contractual support, financial analysis. 
Works closely with member and physician to help guide lowest cost, most appropriate site of care.
Translate clinical information into functional specifications within a clinical rule set to be implemented at the pharmacy point-of-care programs, such as, but not limited to, formulary development and compliance of all medications, prior authorization and step therapy, adherence, drug utilization review, dose optimization, and reviewing prescriber patterns for both product lines. 
Analyze data providing outcomes to the team and our clients. 
Work closely with the Part D and Commercial clinical pharmacist and team, as well as, medical management programs, operational and customer service departments.
Facilitate the implementation of legislative updates.
Process Improvement: Continuously reviews, recommends and implements improvement steps, as needed or directed.
Seeks supervisory guidance/approval as appropriate.
Portrays professional image: follows dress code, communicates with internal and external customers in a professional manner, including appropriate verbal and written grammar.
Promotes and demonstrates professional standards to enhance the development of the department.
Practices ethical conduct.
Meets acceptable attendance and punctuality expectations (excluding FMLA)

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:  Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred
Experience: Practicing as a registered clinical pharmacist with an understanding of managed care principles.  Experience in health plan clinical/formulary management is preferred.  Managed Care experience highly recommended
License: Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio
Proficient in drug literature and clinical trial reviews
Knowledge of formulary systems, medical and pharmacy claims

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Office environment with moderate noise level.
Frequent sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, and long periods working at a computer.
Occasionally walking, standing, twisting/turning and reaching upward or forward during work day.
