Job Description

Nature and Scope

This position, as a member of the Quality Control Chemistry Team, is responsible for liaising with the manufacturing and materials management groups to coordinate, schedule, and perform sampling activities for Raw materials and components for the purpose of laboratory activities and compendial requirements.

This position is responsible for performing these activities in a sterile GMP environment. Additionally, this position is responsible for performing some inspection and analysis activities related to sample processing and assessment for applicability for GMP activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Liaise with multiple departments to coordinate, schedule, and perform sampling activities for Raw Materials and Components, both hazardous and non-hazardous
Process raw materials and components for the purpose of shipping the materials for sterilization
Perform transactions within the materials management software application related to sampling activities
Execute and follow GMP SOP pertaining to various aspects of the sampling processes
Maintain appropriate gowning qualifications for access to sterile manufacturing environments
Maintain appropriate inventory of sampling related materials
Performing initial and annual visual inspections of FDA and/or regulatory retain samples
Perform and document all work in accordance with existing company policies, procedures, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field, Materials Management, or equivalent discipline preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience in pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and/or materials management preferred.
Require/Preferred Experience with specific equipment/software/programs etc.
Academic or industry work experience with specific chemical safety training (e.g. knowledge of Safety Data Sheets) preferred.
Willingness to learn and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Ability to conform to all associated regulatory requirements, FDA & DEA, as well as state and local regulations associated with the handling transportation of materials.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Environment and Requirements

Physically able to wear laboratory protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves. PPE and Respirators are essential for the health and safety of employees.
Specific vision requirements include 20/40 near vision (can be corrected with eyeglasses or contacts) and color vision.
Employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Employees must maintain a clean-shaven appearance each working shift to wear tight-fitting respirators properly.
