Responsibilities




What you'll do:

 

As an Infrastructure Engineer with a network focus, you'll provide strategic planning and execution of high visibility projects across the global landscape. You'll collaborate with internal clients, peers and leadership to influence the modernization of the network infrastructure at Principal. As business continues to change at a quicker pace, it's critical to have excellent planning/organization skills, and have the ability to communicate across all levels, collaborating with peers and vendors and coach to up skill peers.

You'll have the opportunity to:

Create a world class network automation and reporting environment while finding innovative ways for team members to work throughout the world.
Work across teams to formulate and implement creative solutions to improve customer experience across the world.
Collaborate with peers to impact the strategic long term direction of the Principal Financial Group network.
Plan for new initiatives and expand the existing network infrastructure.
Optimize network infrastructure, security and performance for internal and external customers.

Qualifications




We're looking for someone with:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate's degree when defining "equivalent work experience")
3+ years of experience with LAN solutions for large enterprises (including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst) analyzing, troubleshooting, and investigating Network and Data Center related systems
Ability to manage multiple efforts by establishing timelines and executing tasks in accordance with timelines
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and decision-making skills
Strong drive to train and improve technical skills of peers
Ability to provide on-call support on a variable basis may be required

Successful candidates will have the following:

Experience with:

IP routing protocols including Layer 2 (including Multi-Vlan architectures) and Layer 3 routing (OSPF, BGP, RIP, EIGRP, HSRP, QoS) in a large enterprise environment
Enterprise security and network-based segmentation solutions such as: firewalls, private VLANs, Cisco ISE, etc.
Automating network deployments and configurations using Ansible (or similar language) or automation orchestrator
Supporting, troubleshooting and implementing new rules in Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
Analyzing, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco ACI
Design, build and support Cisco wireless infrastructure that utilize the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller platform
Virtual datacenter (VMware) and virtual switching environments

Ability to configure and support one or more of the major Application Delivery Controller appliances (Citrix NetScaler, F5 BigIP, etc)
Familiarity with Software Defined Networking, OpenFlow and WAN technologies
Ability to program in Linux
