This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

This position is located in Lima, Ohio, U.S.A and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

Project Management

Be responsible for design of all assigned instrument (SIS) and site electrical infrastructure projects, including follow through of capital work for improvements to site electrical distribution system.
Develop preliminary project scope and estimate per the CapMap and stage gate process.
Prepare all documents necessary for project authorization using the AFE financial process.
Coordinate project activities between Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental departments.
Be responsible for project schedule and monitoring of construction activities.
Prepare bid documents and coordinates with Procurement group to implement contracts.
Prepare requisitions for equipment and materials.
Be the project lead between company and 3rd party engineering firm; be responsible for ensuring that all design work meets applicable codes and regulations.
Be responsible for management of all project related construction activities including safety.
Prepare and maintain project documentation.
Perform special studies and projects as directed by Engineering Manager.
Provide input on technical design basis for instrument / electrical portion of capital projects.
Complete project/MOC assignments. Provide engineering for corrective action, obtain necessary approvals when required, issue written reports, and follow up to ensure proper completion.
Witness equipment testing/repair or vendor shop/expertise evaluation and the write associated purchase requisitions.

 Instrument / Electrical

Oversee all personnel performing work on the site electrical infrastructure.
Be responsible for maintaining all safety related procedures for performing work on site electrical infrastructure. Validate that all personnel performing work on the site electrical infrastructure are trained and certified to perform such work.
Document and maintain overall design basis related to site electrical infrastructure including that equipment is in compliance with NEC and other related codes. Be responsible for maintaining site electrical classification drawings.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Operations and Maintenance departments related to site electrical issues.
Provide technical support for assigned Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and TapRoot incident investigations.
Provide technical support during detailed design phase of engineering. Responsible for ensuring that detailed engineering is completed in accordance with RAGAGEP and other code requirements.
Maintain and upgrade personal competency field of expertise, staying current with the latest advances in technology.
Provide both formal and informal training to maintenance and operations personnel as needed to support the efficient and appropriate operation and maintenance of plant electrical equipment.
Provide specialized knowledge for the analysis of electrical problems and equipment failures.
Review "Management of Change" in the areas of electrical interlocks, power distribution, or electrical components and recommends corrective actions.
Provide troubleshooting capabilities to area maintenance personnel on day-to-day control and interlock problems in such areas as electrical motors, drives, and controllers, power distribution, etc.
Develop switching procedures as needed for complex electrical tasks requiring special lockout or isolation measures.

Education/Experience:

Required Education and Experience:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering (or related) discipline (PE preferred). Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in chemical plant environment (or related) with responsibilities involving electrical engineering, maintenance, or production; experience in an engineering office would also qualify. Must be familiar with system design, electrical equipment application, and maintenance procedures for electrical distribution and utilization systems ranging from 34.5 kV to 120 Volts.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Demonstrated experience in managing projects in excess of $5.0 MM. Familiarity with industrial codes and standards is important. Ability to deal effectively with various departments, outside contractors and consultants. Ability to perform or manage day-to-day activities with minimum supervision is essential.
