Position Overview

Hexion Inc. is looking for a Communications Manager who is passionate about writing, internal communications, associate event planning, learning and development programs, and the associate lifecycle and experience, including recruitment and onboarding.

The Communications Manager will work collaboratively within the HR organization and across business/functional groups to bring new and creative ideas and best in-class practices to reach a broad internal stakeholder base - through multimedia storytelling, leadership communication, thought leadership and other strategies.  In this role, the Communications Manager will partner with the Global Director - Associate Communications & Development to:

Connect associates' work to Hexion's vision, purpose, and strategic priorities
Provide associates with the information they need to do their jobs well
Bridge physical gaps in location to align all locations globally as 'One Hexion'
Contribute to an unrivaled associate experience by sharing the many ways Hexion is committed to being a best place to learn, work, and thrive, whether it's through our benefits, training and development, or Hexion's many other associate programs.

Job Responsibilities

As a key player on the Communications and HR Team, you will:
Develop, manage and execute on an editorial content calendar to support our internal Hexion brand, leading to enhanced associate experience, engagement and our culture.
Lead and coordinate functional and business unit communications efforts and planning activities for key programs, processes, and initiatives - including change management efforts.
Write internal news articles, newsletters, website copy - as well as help maintain and curate content on our intranet, Hexion Connect.
Help develop and package learning and development content to accelerate the growth of our associates.
Partner with Legal and Compliance team to reinforce core values and policy expectations.
Copyedit, proofread, and revise proposed internal content prepared by others.
Develop targeted distribution lists, produce and publish targeted communications via email blasts.
Partner with the Associate Engagement and Social Impact Leader to support our ESG and Social Responsibility efforts, including associate well-being, associate engagement survey and charitable giving and events.
Help produce and publish videos, photography, graphics and creative collateral to help tell our story to associates and build the internal Hexion brand.
Maintain data to help evaluate, refine and continually improve our campaign efforts.
Conducting research and preparing presentations of findings as needed.
Coordinate branded gear for Hexion as a way for associates to show their Hexion pride.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business administration, human resources, psychology, journalism, marketing and communications, or related field
Minimum 5-7 years of work experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills and business acumen
Demonstrate creativity and experience in graphic design and copywriting
Superior editorial and interpersonal skills with a broad range of communications and project management experience, including developing and implementing content editorial calendars
Ability to perform with poise under tight deadlines and shifting priorities; can successfully navigate a complex, fast-paced organization
Highly organized, detail oriented professional with outstanding follow-through skills
Strong experience in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
