Responsibilities




We are seeking a student who is enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program for our Virtual Design and Construction team. Apply what you've learned in the classroom to active projects, while building professional network along the way.

SSOE's Corporate Global Initiatives team drives innovation and high value workflow improvements to the organization. The VDC Intern is a member of this diverse team, contributing to the firm's Virtual Design and Construction efforts. You will be involved in a number of aspects of project execution, including operation project details, project planning, and technology integration.

Looking for enthusiasm and entry level experience in one or more of the following:

BIM or 3D Modeling
Gaming Engines or VR Environments
Construction Coordination
Trade or Fabrication Modeling or assembly
Computer Programing
Reality Capture - LIDAR or UAV/UAS Scanning
Strong leadership and comprehension skills

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Develop use cases for innovation initiatives that involve new software, processes, and/or workflows
Participate in pilot projects to vet new software, processes, and/or workflows
Assist and perform research to improve upon existing best-known methods to increase company efficiency
Potential to train or present to end users on New, CAD, BIM, and/or VDC technologies
Assist operations with CAD, BIM, and VDC technology support issues
Document best known methods for CAD, BIM, and VDC workflows


Qualifications




Sophomore, junior, senior, or entry master's candidate in a post-secondary education institution. In lieu of post-secondary education track, an associates in related fields or minimum of two (2) year of design, construction, or computer science experience with SSOE or former employer(s) is required.
Organizational and computer skills a must.
Effectively communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions in both a spoken and written manner.
Ability to think through and solve complex problems.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
