OhioMeansJobs Lake County is assisting a local residential and commercial door service company in recruiting efforts for the following position:
JOB TITLE: Residential/Commercial Overhead Door Technician
LOCATION: Chesterland. OH

DEPARTMENT: Service and Installations
HOURS: Full-time, Monday-Friday
SHIFT: 1st shift, 8am-4:30pm
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for servicing and installation of products sold and maintained by the Company.
Has telephone and personal contact with customers and employees regarding service and installation coordination.
Will perform duties as directed by field supervision.
Will properly document time sheets and cards to ensure complete accuracy of timekeeping for all jobs.
Shall be responsible for participating in Safety and Toolbox talks every two weeks.
The technician will conduct themselves and present themselves in a professional manner, always including appearance while on the clock and while in company uniform.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures as listed in the employee handbook.
Performs other duties to facilitate functioning of business as required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Basic installation and servicing knowledge of all product lines offered by the company. The technician must know how to properly fill out a work order and time sheets.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
No certifications are required.
Prior customer service experience.
2 years construction experience. Carpentry skills using basic hand tools.
Ability to establish and maintain customer relationships in person.
Must have excellent telephone skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be well organized.
SCHOOLING OR EQUIVALENT: 2 years of previous construction experience.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS: This job will require contact with both internal and external customers. The contact will be for the purpose of selling products, obtaining information, advising the customer, solving problems, and explaining pertinent information to other areas of the company. Adherence to the company Communication Protocol is required.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY: This job requires the individual to use various measuring tools that require precise measurements for the proper installation of products offered by the company. This job requires the individual to obtain, create, and communicate accurate information. Errors in interpreting information between the customer and other departments could result in the improper installation and servicing of products offered by the company. This could result in lost revenue and customer goodwill.
MENTAL EFFORT: This job requires a great of attention to safety in the workplace. The technician should consider safety as the top priority for themselves, other employees, and the customer.
ENVIRONMENT: Works in a field environment at various locations. Each location will have different safety requirements that the technician must be aware.
