Document and assess internal controls, identify strengths and weaknesses of financial, operational, and quality controls, and recommend business efficiency opportunities.
Develop Internal Audit Plan (based on determination of risk factors affecting company and industry; gain and maintain working knowledge of industry and regulatory environment affecting company).
Prepare reports of audits and presents findings to the Audit Committee, CFO and CEO.
Continuously monitor risks and audit plan to ensure appropriate alignment of efforts and present proposed changes to the audit committee to ensure risks receive appropriate attention.
Evaluate the integrity of operational data and compliance with established policies and procedures through the audit process.
Provide an independent appraisal of controls over financial integrity, quality integrity, operational effectiveness, IT controls for security, privacy and high availability, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley laws and policies.
Partner with the business leaders on the development of a company-wide enterprise risk management program and report to the board on vulnerabilities, improvements the business should consider or adopt to lower risk or improve performance.
Supervise internal audit program by reviewing accounting procedures, confirmation of accounts, inspection of physical operations, and detection, investigation, and prevention of fraud.
Ensure all relevant working papers, audit reports and commentary are made available to the Company's independent public accountants as a means of aiding them in determining the scope of their examination.
Institutes a system of budgetary and cost control over the auditing programs.
Conducts special investigations related to the Company's financial, quality, operational, and contractual matters and/or procedures at the request of the CFO, CEO or CAO.
Ensure that all required training is identified for and completed by all direct reports.
Evaluate staffing needs and costs; identifies, hires and promotes individuals with the right skills and competencies necessary to achieve superior results.

Degree in accounting or associated field, and either an advanced degree, CPA, or CIA.
7+ years public or private auditing experience, two (2) of which must be at supervisory level.
Thorough understanding of US GAAP, PCAOB, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and IIA Standards.
Experience working with external audit.
Experience reporting to and working with governing boards.
Analytical skills to quickly review and analyze business processes to identify control deficiencies as well as business operation problems and opportunities.
Experience with enterprise risk management, performing risk assessments with senior management.
Excellent project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, recommendation development skills.
