ENGIE is hiring a Plant Operations & Maintenance Manager at our Ohio State University site. The position will be responsible for managing the overall operation and maintenance of the Campus steam and electric cogeneration facilities, domestic water production, chilled water production, backup generation, electric substations and distribution systems for steam, condensate, compressed air, electricity, domestic water, chilled water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer. The Manager will oversee the provision of additional services to campus customers beyond the boundaries of the Utility Systems.

What you'll do:


Ensures an environment consistent with Engie's culture of physical safety, process safety and psychological safety for all staff, contractors, service providers and all stakeholders involved in the project
Oversees the management of five distinct divisions that include the Cogeneration Plants, Chilled Water Plants, Potable Water Plants, Outside Water Treatment Services, and Distribution departments
Responsible to ensure detailed plans are created and adhered to in each division that meets or exceeds the KPI deliverables according to the concession agreement
Oversees the daily operation and administration of the utilities division to ensure consistent, high quality, environmentally sound generation of steam, electricity, heating hot water, domestic water, chilled water, compressed air, and distribution of those utilities, plus storm and sanitary sewer systems in accordance with the site's policies and published standards, including the Concession Agreement performance requirements
Maintains policies and procedures for plant staff including safety, emergency response, and operational requirements and ensures compliance with all mandated safety and environmental standards
Develops annual budgets, analyzes expenses monthly, and reforecasts future needs, communicating such to corporate leadership.  Optimizes the financial status of the operations and capital expenses departments
Prepares staffing plans and justification to seek proper staffing levels to meet operational and maintenance needs of the utility systems
Participates in and leads business continuity planning, risk management and safety programs related to utility systems
Assists in the annual development and update of the capital plan, and supports execution of approved capital projects, including repair, renewal, and utility system infrastructure expansion, through concept, design, and construction phases

 
Qualifications
What you bring:


Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Industrial Engineering or similar four (4) year degree
Minimum eight (8) years'
Master's degree preferred with a minimum 10+ years in senior leadership role including a strong understanding of the multiple dimensions of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
Strong leadership and communication skills to manage an organization of 100+ employees
Experience managing a multi-million-dollar annual budget and energy program.
Strong decision making and planning skills
Demonstrated skills to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in service-oriented environment with changing priorities
Ability to work irregular hours, weekends and be on "all call" status
