Under guidance of higher-level Stationary Engineer, monitors and operates all Utility Plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner including but not limited to boilers, emergency diesel generators, chillers, air compressors, pumps, water treatment and associated equipment. In this role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and clean plant equipment and complete logs and record keeping. Follows operating, safety and environmental standards is of the upmost importance. The Assistant Stationary Engineer works a 12-hour shift and is subject to emergency call. 

What you'll do:


Take plant readings, monitors utility system performance, conducts water testing and makes changes as necessary to provide reliable and efficient plant operations
Respond to alarms and utility system conditions
Perform troubleshooting and inspection activities
Complete startup, shutdown and Lock Out/Tagout of equipment
Review plant SOP's and other training material directed toward passing the State of Ohio third class stationary engineer license exam
Operate current and future utility plant equipment including but not limited to boilers, chillers, air compressors, emergency generators and associated equipment
Carry out other duties as assigned

 
Qualifications
What you bring:


State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator license preferred
Successful completion of a 125-hour steam boiler and steam turbine operation course approved by the superintendent preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
Good mechanical comprehension
Computer literacy

Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and clear driving record
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
Could involve some lifting
