Oversee and manage the Bank's Model Risk Management (MRM) program. Assist model developers, owners, users, Senior Management, and other stakeholders to implement and comply with the MRM policy and procedures, including those related to the development, implementation, use, validation, monitoring, and maintenance of models used throughout the bank.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate implementation of model validations, annual reviews, and ongoing monitoring.
Conduct model validations and annual reviews as needed.
Maintain the model inventory, including the model risk classification, development, testing, analysis, validation, use, performance monitoring, and issue and change management artifacts. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information in the model risk management system of record (Archer).
Review and approve model risk classifications, model documentation, model use and restrictions, model validation and annual review reports, performance monitoring indicators, model issues and action plans.
Assess policy waiver requests.
Manage the annual attestation process.
Chair the Model Risk Management team.
Report and communicate the status of Model Risk Management program to the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) at least quarterly, including model issues and action plans, significant or emerging model risks or concerns, and the overall level and direction of individual and aggregate model risk.
Stay up to date on regulatory expectations and standard industry practices related to model risk management.
Provide model risk management training, guidance, and advisory services.
Demonstrate proactive model risk management including effective challenge.
Actively support the ERM function of risk oversight and business partner collaboration in other projects as needed.
Education - Bachelor's degree in business, risk management, economics, math, statistics, or related.
Experience - A minimum of three (3) years' experience in model use, development, risk management, model validation, or related.
Other - Expert level Microsoft Excel experience, and/or relevant programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or SAS
Familiarity with Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, SAS, or other relevant languages.
Bachelors of Economics (required)
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in model use, development, risk management, model validation, or related. (required)
Expert level Microsoft Excel experience, and/or relevant programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or SAS (required)
