We are hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor to join our leadership team!

Summary:
The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for all operational activities of the department including pharmacists, technicians and support staff. Maintains appropriate documentation of all training/ annual competencies of pharmacy staff. Communicates with pharmacy manager about any circumstances or situations which has or may have serious impact to patients, staff or hospital. Carries out Hospital/Pharmacy policies and procedures and standards. Oversees drug and equipment recalls. Assumes operational responsibility in the absence of the department manager.

Responsibilities:
1.Supervises pharmacists and technicians, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.

2.Primarily responsible for compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 Standards. Ensures monthly compliance with IV clean room processes; documents initial and annual personnel training and competency. Monitors quality assurance and quality control and remediates any areas of non-compliance with personnel or equipment. Conducts end process IV room validation testing on all staff members on an annual basis.

3.Assists the manager with compliance of all Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, CMS and FDA regulations. Assists with the creation of all department policies and procedures.

4.Responsible for daily workflow of pharmacists and technicians and prepares schedules for the technicians; Kronos approver for technicians.

5.Collaborates with manager on inventory management.

6.Assists in controlled substance monitoring and surveillance.

7.Ensures all packaging equipment and automation functions properly.

8.Ensures pharmacy operations meets meet all department mandated timeframes and deadlines.

9.Maintains effective communication with all pharmacy staff (clinical coordinators, staff pharmacists and technicians).

10.Functions as a staff/clinical pharmacist when needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Takes call including weekends and assists in all emergencies.

11.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.

Technical Expertise
1.Experience in pediatric hospital pharmacy management is preferred.

2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

3.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience
1.Education:  Bachelor's degree or Pharm. D. in Pharmacy is required; Master's degree is preferred.

2.Licensure: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is required.

3.Certification: Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist (BCPPS), or other BPS Board Certification is preferred.

4.A post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy (PGY1) Residency is preferred

5.Years of relevant experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant hospital management experience required.

6.Years of experience supervising: Two years preferred.
