Summary:

This job requires the ability to work and act both independently and under the direction of a Senior Environmental Director. The Environmental Manager is responsible for performing tasks associated with maintaining compliance with applicable environmental regulations, recognize safety concerns and at-risk behaviors while in the field, understanding industrial hygiene principles and practices, and assisting in the development and growth of the sustainability program.

**This position is focused in Northern Ohio
  • Must be willing to travel across Ohio and potentially the Mid-West Region as needed

Responsibilities:

    Environmental:
  • Help create, educate, and perform environmental inspections to include but not limited to:
    • Industrial Storm Water and Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans (SWP3)
    • Spill Prevention Countermeasures and Controls (SPCC) plan site inspections and Audits
    • State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) Reporting Inspections and Audits
    • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Material/Universal Waste
    • Permit compliance and evaluations
  • Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to the jobsites on environmental issues.
  • Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports
  • Assist in training and education of the work force to improve the growth and development of the environmental program and our team members
  • Perform audits, analyzes and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies
  • Perform and or provide guidance and direction for field laboratory analysis, emissions testing, and field observations
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and weekends as well as travel when necessary
  • Participate or attend environmental conferences or seminars to continue individual education
    Safety:
  • Observe and enforce company safety standards as part Environmental duties. Understand the safety hazards associated with the installation and implementation of environmental BMP (best management practices).
    Sustainability:
  • Assist in developing and implementing sustainability plans and initiatives for the various companies.
  • Serve as internal leader on emerging trends, frameworks, industry benchmarks, and issues in the construction industry.
    Industrial Hygiene:
  • Be Knowledgeable in industrial hygiene practices and procedures.
  • Understand when environmental impacts require additional safety and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Provide jobsite support for analytic analysis and understanding of environmental and industrial hygiene needs and practices.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or Engineering strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of environmental, safety, and health regulations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate EHS policies and procedures to employees
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing compliance issues
  • Strong project management skills
