Primary Responsibilities

This individual will work closely with design engineers, multi-discipline design teams, and project managers and will be responsible for supporting the design and production of contract documents for our Water/Wastewater Clients. The candidate will be required to develop complete sets of construction drawings from a 2D/3D BIM model. This individual should have a strong understanding of design concepts including process equipment, piping layouts, flanges, valves and fittings, P&IDs, utility relocations, and other aspects related to the design. This individual must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D and be able to coordinate design with multi-discipline project teams. They should possess strong communication and coordination skills and should be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with an initiative to deliver high-quality, technically sound designs.

Required Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design Engineering or related field or equivalent experience in CADD systems operations and maintenance.
Ability to produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided drafting software.
Experience in adopting the BIM process in large projects during its lifecycle from design to operation, and demonstrating a strong knowledge of industry standards and practices in the areas of CAD, Microstation, and BIM software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Strong organizational skills and sound judgment in establishing priorities among support requests and project work.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of experience with BIM software, including 3D modeling, clash detection, and coordination.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in the development of process models and drawings.
Civil drafting background with underground utility experience.
Preference is given to local candidates.
