Position Overview




The Enterprise Cloud Storage Engineer will assist in evaluating and developing strategy, policy, process, and plan to migrate the National Air & Space Intelligence Center's (NASIC) multiple Petabytes of data at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio to the cloud. This position will conduct a study of NASIC's existing data types, size, frequency of access, and architecture to propose the most cost-effective means that meets NASIC's mission needs and takes advantage of the tiered cloud storage options offered by AWS. Candidates must be technically proficient and capable of devising practical and sustainable solutions.


Responsibilities




Job Responsibilities:

Analyze NASIC's existing data types, size, frequency of access, and architecture to propose the most cost-effective storage strategy that meets NASIC's mission needs and takes advantage of the tiered cloud storage options offered by AWS
Provide technical leadership and advice to the vision and design of data storage solutions
Collaborate with CTO, IT architects, customers, developers, and other stakeholders to develop enterprise level storage services/tech both on-prem and in the commercial cloud
Develop and communicate storage design strategy, vision, goals, and plan
Produce communication materials (schedules, briefings, etc.) to keep stakeholders apprised of storage study/strategy progress and roadblocks
Advise government customer in the prioritization of activities
Participate in planning activities
Assist in the creation and review of use cases, backlogs, technical documentation, project trajectories, and goals
Other duties as assigned


Qualifications




Required Qualifications:

Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, computer programming, physics, applied mathematics, or related technical field
10+ years of experience spanning IT data storage technology (on-prem and cloud), IT systems operations, and software development
3+ years of experience with AWS tiered storage technologies
Understanding of agile software development concepts
Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team player



Desired Qualifications:

15+ years of experience in IT data storage technology (on-prem and cloud), IT systems operations, or software development
5+ years of experience with AWS tiered storage technologies
Experience conducting a data migration to the cloud
Understanding of micro-services, IaaS, PaaS, system visualization, and/or cloud capabilities/designs
Experience as part of an agile software development project/program
Capable of performing cost or price analysis including review of cost breakdowns, should-cost analysis, and affordability trades to determine reasonableness at program level
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve enterprise level technical problems
Experience with DevSecOps and/or cross domain solutions
Experience with APIs, orchestration, automation, and databases
Experience with intelligence production
Understanding of Kubernetes, data bases, Python, Istio, Helm, GitLab, Elastic, Confluence, Jira and/or other related technologies
Knowledge in networking (protocols, virtual networks, subnets, firewalls)
Professional certifications in agile software development (e.g. Scrum Product Owner, etc.)
Professional certifications in systems engineering, IT, and/or project/program management (e.g. ITIL, PMP, DAU, etc.)
Experience with "needs" documentation (e.g. CONOPs, use cases, requirements, backlogs)
Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
Familiarity with NIST RMF


Global Comp




$80,000 - $180,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
