HX5 is currently seeking a Technology Transfer Specialist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is housed in the Office of Technology Integration and Partnerships (OTIP) which is also known as Code T. The TTO supports GRC's science and engineering staff in identifying, reporting, understanding, protecting, and celebrating new technology and technological advancements developed through their research. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Technical Award Management:


Track technologies independently and with the technical staff and/or management to identify and determine how they meet the criteria for the awards supported by the Technology Transfer Office.
Represent GRC in support of the activities of the NASA Inventions and Contributions Board. This includes coordination of the Invention of the Year and Software of the Year award nominations and requires approval of the Government Awards Liaison Officer.
Support the nomination of technologies for receipt of the R&D 100 Award, Federal Laboratory Consortium and other external awards that are consistent with the mission of the Office of Technology Integration and Partnerships and the Technology Transfer Office.
Track the success of the nominations submitted and make any required changes in the process.
Inform all applicants of the results of their nominations and work to ensure that recipients receive the maximum amount of exposure practicable both internally and externally; includes working with the Media Relations office.
Coordinate and initiate the nomination/selection process for the Distinguished Publication Award for the Center Chief Technologist.
Utilize NTTS as the database to record, track and monitor innovations, technologies, awards.

Technical Writing:


Assist in the preparation and distribution of articles stemming from the full spectrum of GRC activities in the Technology Transfer Office. This includes working with other staff members to identify potential success stories; working with the technical staff to clearly understand the success and the involvement of the Technology Transfer Office; and either drafting the success story or working with Contractor staff to draft the success story.
Ensure that each success story is entered into the NTTS database and posted on the Technology Transfer Program's website. Explore additional methods of increasing the visibility of the success story through various media internal and external to the Center.
Initiate draft documents, in support of a number of different tasks that include nominations, articles, press releases, display, and outreach materials.
Write and produce a quarterly newsletter highlighting events and activities important to the Office of Technology Integration and Partnerships.
Write and coordinate production of videos highlighting the important research and engineering that occurs at GRC.

Other Responsibilities:


Collect information, coordinate, and participate activities for the Technology Transfer Office or on behalf of the Center as requested.
Propose and when applicable, initiate activities relating to the Technology Transfer Office.
Track monthly metrics for the Technology Transfer Office for awards, publications, articles, and media pieces.
Attend staff and other meetings per request.
Travel as requested.
Support TTO activities as needed.
Provide training and mentoring to new employees as needed.

Required Skills:


Demonstrated experience in technical writing, award management, digital media creation and management, analysis of digital media usage, publication, and marketing.
Excellence in customer service.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.

Other Position Requirements:


Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
