About the Job

Inside the Role
This position is responsible for operation of a commercial spray gun to paint a variety of engines and engine components with lacquers, enamel, and undercoats to produce flat, gloss, semi-gloss, wrinkle and suede finishes.
Use hand tools, air powered tools, and other special equipment to perform paint operations.

This position offers:

Starting pay of $20.70/hr. up to top pay of $29.21hr.*
Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential

*additional shift differential for off-shifts

What You Drive at DTNA

Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
Ability to operate hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
Inspect all metal prior to produce specific finishes
Ensure quality of paints and thinners
Complete miscellaneous related assignments such as masking, wrapping, etc.
Clean and maintain all paint room apparatus
Inventory management of paint supplies
Must be able to pass respirator fit test
Use of Hoist, Pallet Jack, and Paint Booth Equipment.
Use of Navision- moving parts in & out
Adhere to established work rotation plan
Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
Complete training matrix for each rotation position
Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
Other tasks and/or duties as requested

Knowledge You Should Bring

Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching.
Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment

Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently (option to use hoist), with periodic lifts of up to 75lbs, (use hoist for heavier items)
Read, understand and complete documentation
Willingness to cross-train throughout the area
Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
Ability to work overtime when necessary
Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating

Must maintain a clean work area.
Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
Cross train on other jobs as required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
Previous mechanical experience
High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
