Job Description: Snelling Staffing has multiple full-time Wireman positions in Louisville, OH.
Summary:
A Wireman will install electrical components and wiring for our potential transformers, relay cases and control switches and meters using an array of tools and equipment. Successful candidates will have prior experience in electrical wiring and reading of blueprints and schematics correctly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.
- Assemble electrical systems and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or conduit using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
- Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses and cloths.
- Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to mount control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.
- Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan, review work activities, or to resolve production problems.
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for operation and record results.
- Identify items that are stock inventory so they can be tracked.
- Must be mechanically / electrically inclined and be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Competencies:
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of switchgear manufacturing operations. Duties require verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify potential manufacturing problems and recommend potential solutions.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Reading and interpreting nameplates and engineering instructions.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Training in a technical discipline, trade school or electrical theory education preferred
- Military experience a plus
- Must have at least 3 years of experience
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and external customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Reads and interprets routine or printed material such as basic blueprints, charts, diagrams, maps or instructional material.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed involved written or oral instructions.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual shall have basic computer competence and the ability to work with common software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Details: Full time. Second Shift (3:00 p.m. to Midnight). 40 hours/week. Monday through Friday. $18.00 to $25.00/hour.
Qualifications: High school diploma / GED or vocational / technical degree. Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs.
Driver’s License Requirement(s): Must Have Valid Driver’s License.
