What you'll do

The Business Systems Solutions team is passionate about providing APIs and automation for crafting and storing customer information, product offerings, fulfillment of orders, and billing. As a member of this team, you will build up a vast knowledge in software development, requirements gathering, testing, automation, and deployment of useful features to internal and external customers across multiple business units, including our government and maritime businesses. Our ideal candidate values communication, learning, adaptability, creativity, and resourcefulness. They also enjoy working on challenging technical issues and use creative and innovative techniques to develop and automate solutions. In addition, an ideal candidate enjoys talking to customers to understand their needs and to craft solutions based on the feedback provided.

The day-to-day

Your responsibilities will involve:

Presenting with collaborators to understand their business needs
Developing solutions that integrate our application portfolio management tool with various end-user platforms, as well as
Demonstrating functionality and progress

This position may be located onsite. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

What you'll need

Completion of a Bachelor's degree or higher between May 2023 - August 2025 in Computer Science & Applications, Computer Science and Computer & Systems Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Mathematics, Computer Science & Network Security and Math & Computer Science, and/or a related field
Experience in Object Oriented Programming
Experience in one or more language: Java, Python, C/C++, JavaScript, TypeScript
Experience with Linux and networking
Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work on a distributed team
Ability to learn quickly and creatively tackle problems

What will help you on the job

Experience with Automation Technologies and CI/CD: Jenkins, Travis, Puppet, CHEF, Ansible, etc.
Experience with Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
Experience with Container Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with Database technologies: RDS, NoSQL
Experience with APIs, web hooks, and message queues
Internship experience is a plus

Salary range

$81,500.00 - $128,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $101,000.00- $151,000.00/ annually
