The CoverMyMeds Marketing team is seeking a highly motivated Creative Director to lead our Creative team. This role reports to the Senior Director of Brand, Creative and External Communications, and will lead a team of an internal art director, copy contractors and external agencies. Your team will work in close partnership with teams across Marketing to deliver work up and down the funnel.

This is a hands-on leadership role and you and your team will be responsible for the overall brand visual-identity and design strategy, working closely with the Senior Director of Brand and other key stakeholders to elevate our brand. This role will provide leadership and creative direction, develop visual brand guidelines, execute marketing, communications, and sales collateral in various media, including, but not limited to, PowerPoint presentations, print, digital, website, events, and video. The Creative Director will manage and inspire the creative team and ensure that the design and copy work together harmoniously and deliver on our business objectives. The Creative Director will also champion employee and partner adherence to brand guidelines.

Role and Responsibilities

Team Leadership

Lead and foster an environment of creativity and collaboration, evaluating tools, resources and retaining top talent
Collaborate within department and across CoverMyMedsand McKesson
Develop team expertise in design and copy
Set clear and aligned goals to improve team performance and engagement
Create talent plans, improve employee engagement, and buildteam culture

Hands-on Design and Creative Direction

Take an active design role in various projects by leading design efforts and offering creative insights on a variety of internal and external initiatives and campaigns
Collaborate with the Art Director on project execution, dividing work based on complexity, visibility, and strategic value
Oversee development of creative (design & copy) from concept to completion, ensuring that all work delivered meets brand standards and business objectives

Brand Identity, Strategy and Management

Develop and refine the brand's visual identity and design strategy ensuring all creative outputs and campaigns align with our company's vision and strategic priorities
Guide copywriters to deliver copy that aligns with brand voice and content strategy
Provide support on brand identity to internal stakeholders and agency partners

Brand Governance

Ensure all elements are aligned to reinforce the brand's market position and achieve long-term business goals
Review outputs with Brand and Creative team to ensure brand compliance
Promote brand standards for the company, and identify new opportunities to enhance the brand across all mediums

Resource Management

Oversee the creative department budget
Develop strategy for in-house vs. outsourcing of resources
Partner with Marketing Operations team to efficiently manage team capacity
Manage freelance resources and vendor/agency relationships effectively

Business Experience

Previous design experience for large organizations
Experience in creative leadership role with a proven track record of managing a creative team, establishing visual identity guidelines,governing design systems and ensuring their adherence

Critical Knowledge/Skills

Leadership: Strong leadership skills to not only manage your team but also key stakeholders within the Marketing team and broader CoverMyMeds organization
Creative Skills: Strong, brand-driven portfolio showcasing a range of conceptual to executional projects, as well as ability to establish and manage design systems, establishing creative templates and efficiencies for scalability
Technical Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Microsoft PowerPoint and familiar with both digital and print design workflows
Business Acumen: Understanding of how creative decisions impact overall business and brand strategy
Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate new ideas and technologies (including AI) into the creative strategy, ensuring our brand remains dynamic and competitive
Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across the company to deliver a cohesive and compelling brand experience and understand the needs and challenges of different departments and tailor creative strategies accordingly
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with various stakeholders and external partners

Additional Knowledge & Skills

B2B or Healthcare experience preferred
Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
Experience working with sales teams and event support
Vendor selection and management
Experience in navigating a large, matrixed corporate environment
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive prioritization alignment
Experience developing new processes and ways of working

Minimum Qualifications: (Education / Experience):

Bachelor's degree or MFA in Design, Marketing, Advertising or related field
Degree or equivalentexperience (Bachelor's degree or MFA in Design, Marketing, Advertising or related field preferred).
Typically requires12+ years of professionalexperience and 4+ years of
management experience.

Travel:

Location Dependent ~10-20%

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $114,000 - $190,000
