Allen County Job & Family Services is offering an Internship in its Social Services department that will provide a hands-on training experience. Interns will work directly with our team to understand the various programs and everyday operations of the Agency. They will have the opportunity to develop stronger organizational, communication and time management skills.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. (Flexible)
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour based on level of education
Expected Internship Duration: 6 months (may be renewed as appropriate) Regular/ Predictable attendance is necessary
This paid internship is a planned and structured work experience that provides youth various opportunities for career exploration and skill development. Individuals must meet youth program eligibility requirements for this funded internship/learning opportunity; youth program ages are 18-24 years old. Applicants will be screened for youth program eligibility.
Social Services Intern:
- Serves as an intern for Social Service programs (Non-Emergency Transportation, Publicly Funded Child Care)
- Assists with necessary paperwork and data entry for clients
- Provides exceptional customer service
- Determines client needs and completes referrals to the appropriate unit
- Maintains detailed and accurate records
- General clerical duties and other duties as assigned
The Agency Intern should possess the following skills, attributes, and qualifications:
- Currently in final year of post-secondary education, pursuing a degree in business, HR, marketing, or a related field, OR a recent graduate
- Exceptional computer skills
- Strong administrative and document management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm and a capacity for hard work
