This position will complement MCC's existing team of research and development professionals within the North America CPG and Food & Beverage groups and provide support to the division globally. The successful candidate will possess a mix of outstanding technical capabilities, coupled with the personal desire and confidence to implement solutions and deliver business results.

Responsibilities:

General house-keeping of R&D laboratory and associated facilities
MCC directed physical and analytical testing using MCC and standardized methods including:
Recycle testing (APR, EPBP)
Materials characterization, including basic label testing (adhesion, peel, accelerated aging)
Analytical testing (microscopy, FTIR, GC, SEM)

Conduct customer specific testing as needed for Beverage, Personal Care, Automotive, Food & Dairy, Pharma, Wine & Spirits, and Home Care market segments.
Proficient in all laboratory testing with documentation of detailed test reports
The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, external customers and internal clients
Read and interpret ASTM, FINAT, and MCC Internal testing standards
Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
He or she will have good organizational skills as well as a basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Excel and Word). This position requires knowledge of basic mathematical computations and the ability to physically perform the essential duties.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience working in a lab, preferably in a R&D environment
AS or BS degree in Chemistry or related field
Working knowledge of chemistry principles and standard operating procedures
Working knowledge of general lab operations and EH&S procedures and principles
Experience with wet chemistry and physical sample analysis would be a plus
Analytical instrumentation experience, preferably with FTIR and/or GC would be a plus
