DEPARTMENT: Ashtabula County Prosecutor’s Office/ Ashtabula County Children’s Services
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Ashtabula County Children Services Board
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, Full-time, 40 hours per week
SALARY: $75,000 - $85,000 starting salary (commensurate with experience) + Numerous County Benefits. Starting salary to be determined by certifications and experience of the candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
• Must be a lawyer in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court.
• Maintain all required licensures and certifications, by attending professional education and training sessions, seminars, and workshops as directed.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen as well as a criminal background check through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
GENERAL DUTIES:
• Prosecution of abuse, neglect and dependency case docket.
• Assessment and preparation of cases by reviewing evidence, meeting with witnesses, and seeking a fair and just resolution.
• Research of legal issues applicable to assigned cases and drafting of appropriate legal motions or briefs in response.
• Provide legal advice and assistance to employees of Ashtabula County Children Services as needed.
