Extension Educators Coordinator 3, Community Development -Ashtabula County
Ohio State University Extension seeks a one-year temporary Program Assistant to work programmatically with county staff and volunteers to support local foods educational programming and community engagement efforts in Ashtabula County, Ohio. The Program Assistant will work directly with Extension professionals and staff who lead initiatives addressing community-based issues related to local foods and community development. The Program Assistant will support Community Development local foods programs designed for youth and adult audiences throughout Ashtabula County. Programs may include Apple Crunch, Ag Day, food and nutrition programs, the Ashtabula County Sustainability Summit, farmers market outreach, and other related educational initiatives. Under the direction of the Community Development Educator, the Program Assistant will assist with updating and distributing the Ashtabula County Local Food Guide and other related marketing and educational materials. Responsibilities will include planning and conducting farmers market programs and events; assisting with community outreach efforts, including evening and weekend events; creating educational materials; supporting community-based programming; completing administrative duties; and participating in professional and public meetings. The Program Assistant will maintain positive working relationships with community partners, volunteers, and clientele while supporting Extension’s educational mission.
This is a temporary 1-year position.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
The pay range for this profile is $16.65 - $21.77/hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
