Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides one or more of the following services, depending on training, education, experience, certification and licensure: case management, therapeutic behavioral services (TBS), psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR), community psychiatric supportive treatment (CPST), peer support and/or related services to clients based on individualized service plans.
Supervised by: Clinical Director or Designee who has the qualifications to supervise the provisions of
services within their scope of practice. Salary: $21.00 per hour.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Provides services that support the client’s goals and objectives and improves the overall
functioning of the client
• Services may include case management, therapeutic behavioral services, psychosocial
rehabilitation, community psychiatric supportive treatment (CPST) services and linkages to other
community resources.
• Depending on credentials, may also provide ongoing assessment of needs, coordination of client
Individual Service Plans, case coordination/management and mental health interventions.
• Documents progress notes clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record within agency
timeliness.
• Collaborates and communicates with other staff members to ensure high-quality treatment and
coordination of care.
• Attends and participates actively in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
• Follows agency policies and procedures, and complies with federal, state and legal regulations,
contractual requirements and mandated reporting rules.
• Maintains client confidence and confidentiality per agency policy and federal law in
compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the following:
  • Mental illness and/or substance use disorder treatment, depending on job focus and duties.
  • Community behavioral health system, social services systems, the criminal justice system, and other healthcare systems.
  • Psychiatric and substance use disorder symptoms and their impact on functioning
  • How to therapeutically engage either with a person with mental illness and/or other behavioral health challenges.
  • Crisis response procedures;
  • De-escalation techniques and an understanding of how the individual’s own behavior can impact the behavior of others.
  • Ability to set and maintain healthy boundaries with clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
  • Ability to be productive and manage time in the best interests of the clients and agency.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences, and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color, of various faith, ethnic, nationality and economic backgrounds and the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Additional competency requirements may be required based on services to be performed, characteristics and needs of the persons to be served, and skills appropriate to the position.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health records system.
  • Ability to convey a professional and positive image and attitude regarding the agency.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Community Health Worker Certification
  • Have an understanding of systems of care including natural support systems, entitlements and benefits, inter- and intra-agency systems of care, crisis response systems and their purpose, and the intent and activities of CPST.
  • Current training in CPR, First-Aid and de-escalation techniques (may be provided by the agency)
