Job Overview

The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is looking for qualified professionals and educators for term adjunct positions. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, who possess the needed technical skills and who are reliable and work independently.

The SoIT at the University of Cincinnati is home of Ohio's first ABET accredited BSIT program. The five-year program emphasizes hands-on skills, problem solving and communication. Classes are offered during the day, the evening, and online. We are searching for term adjuncts for all courses for fall and spring semesters. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue to fill all needed positions.

This position cannot provide sponsorship, thus candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Essential Functions


On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.

Minimum Requirements


Minimum qualifications by rank:

Instructor-Adjunct:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or closely related area and 3-20 years' IT professional experience in the subject that will be taught

Assistant Professor-Adjunct:

Master's degree in Information Technology or closely related area and 0-20 years' IT professional experience in the subject that will be taught -OR- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or closely related area and 20+ years' IT professional experience in the subject that will be taught -OR- PhD in Information Technology or closely related area and 0-10 years' IT professional experience in the subject that will be taught

Associate Professor-Adjunct:

PhD in Information Technology or closely related area and 10+ years' IT professional experience in the subject that will be taught -OR- Master's degree in Information Technology or closely related area and 20+ years' IT professional experience in the subject that will be taught

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
Must have outstanding writing skills to present research in written format.
Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
