Value Stream Manager - US - Dayton, OH

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

The Value Stream Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end value stream within our machining operations, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, information, and processes. This role will lead cross-functional teams to achieve key performance metrics, drive continuous improvement, and optimize production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and a focus on delivering value to the customer.

The Build (Responsibilities)

Manage and oversee all aspects of the value stream, from raw materials to finished products, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Lead, coach, and mentor cross-functional teams including scheduling, production, quality, engineering, and logistics.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency using lean manufacturing principles.
Highly engaged in current machining processes with the ability to champion projects that develop a more efficient machining standard. To include current state machining and assembly, reorganization of equipment, and the implementation of new equipment.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and operational performance.
Collaborate with leadership to align value stream activities with business objectives and customer requirements.
Manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets and maintain optimal efficiency.
Oversee budgeting and financial performance of the value stream, including cost reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Lead problem-solving efforts to address production and operational challenges, implementing corrective actions where needed.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and employee engagement within the team.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).
Proven track record of improving operational performance and delivering results.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience managing budgets and financial performance.
Knowledge of machine processes and manufacturing technology
